Dopo 4 anni di impegno, il progetto LIFE CLIVUT si è concluso il 31 agosto. La strategia urbana per verde urbano sui cambiamenti climatici è stata efficacemente attuata in Portogallo (Cascais), Italia (Perugia e Bologna) e Grecia (Salonicco), oltre che nelle rispettive città di trasferimento.

Il 5 giugno si celebra, in tutto il mondo, la Giornata Mondiale dell’Ambiente, un evento internazionale che unisce vari Paesi nel voler preservare l’ecosistema naturale della Terra.

Si conosce benissimo l’impatto che danno le microplastiche all’ambiente, sono così piccole ma allo stesso tempo così tanto presenti in tutto ciò che riguarda la catena ambientale e, soprattutto, alimentare.

Come fanno i semi a germogliare? O, meglio, come fanno a decidere quando è arrivato il momento di germogliare?

Il Comune di Bologna ha pubblicato l'avviso pubblico per l'adesione di eventi al progetto Life CLIVUT dedicato ad associazioni, associazioni no profit, scuole, istituzioni, società private, ecc.

Ogni piccola azione che compiamo nel nostro quotidiano ha un impatto sull’ambiente, compreso questo post o lo streaming dell’ultima puntata di quella serie tv che ci piace tanto.

Da anni si è parlato dell’espansione del buco dell’ozono e del suo progressivo ingrandimento ma, grazie alle continue ricerche e ai cambiamenti dello stile di vita della popolazione, anche se in modo lento, la famigerata “catastrofe irreversibile” sta pian piano regredendo.

L’University Malaysia Sabah e la Xiamen University Malaysia hanno condotto una ricerca bibliografica sulle alghe, pubblicata su Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, che spiegherebbe la correlazione tra le alghe e l’attenuazione del riscaldamento globale.

Le ondate di calore sono “condizioni metereologiche estreme che si verificano quando si registrano temperature molto elevate per più giorni consecutivi, spesso associate a tassi elevati di umidità, forte irraggiamento solare e assenza di ventilazione” (fonte: salute.gov).

Chi dice di non aver mai sentito parlare di PM10, PM1, micron o particolati, mente.

Perché è importante piantare gli alberi in città? Ci sono diversi motivi che spiegano l’importanza di questi “polmoni verdi” all’interno delle aree urbane: assorbono carbonio, riducono l’inquinamenti, producono ossigeno, proteggono il suolo limitando il rischio di frane e mitigando gli effetti delle alluvioni, hanno una biodiversità fra le loro chiome, rappresentano una memoria storia, filtrano l’acqua piovana attraverso le radici ecc.

Uno studio dell’Istituto sull’inquinamento atmosferico e dell’Istituto di scienze del patrimonio culturale del Cnr mostra come la pandemia e climate change, apparentemente diversi, abbiano invece dinamiche simili.

I cambiamenti climatici vengono definiti come una serie di variazioni a lungo termine delle temperature e dei modelli metereologici.

Con verde urbano si fa riferimento a tutte le aree, più o meno espanse, che costituiscono un vero e proprio polmone verde delle città, influendo sulla qualità della vita di tutte le fasce della popolazione.

Nei centri urbani in estate si verifica spesso un fenomeno microclimatico, definito come “isola di calore”, che comporta un surriscaldamento locale con un aumento delle temperature fino a 4-5° C rispetto alle zone periferiche o alle campagne.

La parte pratica sarà invece dedicata a illustrare potenzialità e funzioni della Web App Treedb ideata da CLIVUT, utile al censimento e per il monitoraggio degli alberi. Con l'applicazione è possibile sapere quanta C02 riescono a stoccare i vari tipi di alberi e quanta PM10 possono assorbire in trent'anni.

Dal 7 al 10 settembre a Bologna si è tenuto 117° Congresso della SOCIETÀ BOTANICA ITALIANA, e l'8° International Plant Science Conference. Il Congresso ha ospitato relatori di fama internazionale esperti in diversi ambiti della botanica: si è svolto nelle strutture dell’Alma Mater, Campus di Bologna, presso il Complesso Belmeloro.

Il team del Progetto europeo LIFE CLIVUT, di cui il Comune di Bologna è partner, organizza a partire da settembre, cinque incontri gratuiti aperti a tutti, dedicati alla gestione ed al monitoraggio del verde, sia pubblico che privato, ed alla scoperta dell'applicazione Web App Treedb. L'incontro avrà una durata di circa 2 ore, sarà composto da una parte teorica (1 ora) ed una pratica (1 ora); e verrà riproposto presso cinque diverse Associazioni della città di Bologna.
