Friday 19th of March 2021 is the XIV National Pollen Day. An online meeting promoted by the Istituto Superiore per la Protezione e la Ricerca Ambientale (ISPRA) and the Italian Association of Aerobiology (AIA), in collaboration with the Palynology Group of the Italian Botanical Society and the POLLnet-SNPA Network. The theme of this year's seminar is "New perspectives from aerobiological monitoring".
During the event, the LIFE Clivut Team will present the actions dedicated to phenological monitoring carried out in the 3 Phenological Areas (PMA) in each of the four partner cities:
Perugia, Bologna, Thessaloniki and Cascais. Phenological monitoring allows to implement an alert on the forecast of the presence of allergenic pollen in the cities. In addition, the geolocalised census programme of trees will be presented, allowing the identification of the city areas in which the concentration of allergenic species is higher.
The aim of the LIFE Clivut project is in fact to make the administrations and citizens aware of the tree heritage of our cities in order to make participatory choices on the most suitable tree species to increase tree ecosystem services in the city and, on the other hand, to reduce their possible inefficiencies such as the presence of pollen allergens.
The XIV National Pollen Day 2021 conference will be live streaming.
